ÉLES Weekly Reminders

Hello ÉLES Families,

Thank-you parents for sending your child to school with a filled water bottle.  It’s a simple gesture but goes a long way. Our grades 4 to 6 are required to wear a mask and we are strongly encouraging our Kindergarten to grade three students to do the same. Ensuring your child has one for school sets them up for success for the day.

Tuesday, November 10th

  • Wear red day

  • Virtual Remembrance Day Ceremony

Wednesday, November 11th: Remembrance Day- No School

Thursday, November 12th & Wednesday, November 13th- Mid-Term Break- No School

The fun and excitement of a Scholastic Virtual Book Fair is coming November 16th-23rd to our school! Before the fair you can watch videos and preview our featured books. https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5151680.  See attached for more details.

Our winter fundraiser, Growing Smiles, has begun!  This quality, beautiful fundraiser includes wreaths, planters, boughs, arrangements, and poinsettias. Orders are due by Tuesday, November 17th.  Pickups will be Friday, December 4th 10am-5pm, due to COVID-19 school restrictions.  Orders can be placed by credit card at eles.growingsmilesfundraising.com.  If you have any questions, please contact Connie Taylor at contay15@gmail.com or Erin Fedje at emfedje@shaw.ca

The screening tool that students are required to complete daily has changed effective November 2, 2020.  The Government of Alberta self-screening tool  is to be completed daily at home to determine if they may enter the school.  If a student  answers “Yes” to any of the questions, they will not be able to enter the school.  You should stay home and use the COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool to determine whether you need to be tested for COVID-19. To access the Government of Alberta self screening tool in a language other than English click here

How to Find Out Your COVID-19 Test Results

Parents can now access their children’s COVID-19 test results in addition to their own results by signing up for your MyHealth Records account, at alberta.ca/myhealthrecords.

  1. Parents: you will need to provide your child’s personal health number and test date to access your child’s COVID-19 test results (within the last 30 days).

  2. Children’s test results will also be accessible as a printable PDF.

If your child needs to go home early or attend an appointment, a sign out form is posted to our school web page. After completing the form, call the school, and your child will be escorted to the front door to meet you for pick-up.

If your child(ren) is going to be late or away due to illness or vacation please email the office at eles@gshare.blackgold.ca so we can mark them away accordingly.
